Alan Peter Steedman (born 7 December 1943) was an Australian politician. At Melbourne University he edited Farrago, the Melbourne University Student Union paper. He also edited ''Lot's Wife'' at Monash University.〔http://www.deakin.edu.au/arts-ed/chcap/research-consult/interview.php〕 In 1983, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Casey, defeating Liberal MP Peter Falconer. However, a redistribution made his seat marginally Liberal, and as a result he was defeated the following year by Liberal Bob Halverson and retired from politics. Pete Steedman was the Executive Director of the not-for-profit company Ausmusic from 1988 to 1996. ==References==
